Heron decoy

Discussed this previously with Billy, short story is the white heron brought in other herons, ibis, hawks, egrets, and the last few hunts, mottled ducks. This was welcome as the ringers have almost disappeared. My blinds have convenient mud packs in which to place the confidence decoy! Today was my last hunt, owing to my strained shoulder (again) but I was rewarded by a decoying drake mottled! Turkey season looms ahead, no complaints!

Re: Heron decoy

I may need to try the Heron thing - Flickers was the last thing I’ve tried and rarely put them out anymore

Yeah, i put away the motion decoys after Thanksgiving. My heron is white, I don't use coots 'cause there aren't any down this way.
