SFWMD Recreation Meetings On the Block

The SFWMD Gov. Board will be discussing at the meeting on Thursday the future (or no future) of the WRAC Recreation Meetings....an over ten year old quarterly meeting with all Stakeholders who recreate on District Lands (about 600,000l acres) meeting with Land Management Staff on all the opportunities and problems that arise routinely with tens of thousands of anglers, campers, bird watchers, air boaters, hunters, hikers, bikers, horse riders, personal watercraft users, etc. etc.

If you recreate on District Land from Rolling Meadows in Polk county, Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, Lake O, the STAs, WCAs, FEBs etc...and want to continue these meetings....you need to attend and speak during Public Comments.

9 am a the District offices on Gun Club Rd in West Palm Beach. (just south of the WPB airport)

Re: SFWMD Recreation Meetings On the Block

Good News...the Recreation Meetings will continue....However, perhaps not as part of WRAC...as WRAC may or may not survive, but will definitely be redesigned....UW-F supports the need for a WRAC like forum and will be working with whatever the Gov. Board approves...

Thanks to those who came out in support of the Recreation Meetings...it made a difference when the Board saw a wide range of stakeholders...
