Great thread, glad I found it! Almost two decades since my lab left to the sky marsh. My daughter brought me to tears yesterday. I will be retiring next June God willing, and she knows about this and how I feel about a dog. "We (my wife and her) will get you one". I still have my Wolters book, and thank you for the other suggestions here. Time to read and dream...

Good luck with pup ... enjoy the journey bc they grow up fast ... saw this on another dog site and so true !!!!

Bill Hillman (DVD) is excellent, Hey pup Fetch it Up is a great book in addition to the others mentioned. Many ways to train a pup, find what works best for your pup and you.
