BioLab Road and Beach Road are closed. Otherwise, I believe everything else is open. Hunted New Years Day in East Gator. No biologists on checkout.

I know people that have hunted the Shilohs and L/M Pond since the shutdown.

Re: MI Open w/shutdown?

Thanks for the reply all, I was trying to hunt off bio lab as I was solo with a small boat with no engine. Ended up putting a hole in the boat jumping over the levee, broke an oar lock, and other than seeing a big flight of divers out over the lagoon, saw 1 duck (merg). Quite a day.

Sad. Used to be one of my favorite places. Could count on the Pintails coming in about 9:00 a mile high and circling in. Bluebills and Redheads by the thousands around this time of year a decade ago.

But motor restrictions and more permits and shell limits will bring it all back they say.....(sigh)

Don't forget no hunting in most of the Indian River up by the Shilohs. Guess where the Bluebills and Redheads are sitting?
